Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is a big reason why his team made the Super Bowl two years ago and came within a game of doing the same this season.
Although quarterback Joe Burrow obviously soaks up all the hype and attention, he wouldn’t be able to do what he does without his No. 1 option.
Unfortunately, as good as Chase is on the field, he can’t seem to free himself of off-the-field drama. Specifically as it pertains to his ex-girlfriend, Ambar Nicole.
You will recall, she previously leaked some pretty troubling messages involving him a while back.
This week she returned with some concerning video stills.
Whichever way this unfolds, hopefully it doesn’t end up heavily influencing Chase heading into 2023-24.
The 23-year-old’s sophomore campaign numbers were understandably down from those he put up in his stellar rookie season, but that’s because defenses now knew what a problem he was.
Nevertheless, he is the most instrumental piece of the Bengals’ offensive puzzle. Burrow, especially with that offensive line, would not be able to do what he does without his best receiver.
Plus with both Tee Higgins and Joe Mixon looking like they might be on their way out, Chase’s importance to the squad will be more evident than ever.
Burrow and his girlfriend have been out partying and relaxing thus far in the offseason.

But soon he and Chase will need to get back in the lab.
If the Bengals want to compete for a Super Bowl slot for the third time in as many years, Chase and Burrow will need to continue to be the stellar players they have been up to this point.
