Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has had a busy offseason thus far.
Almost as soon as the year wrapped, the former Ohio State standout has had to endure nonstop speculation regarding whether his squad would attempt to take another passer with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The answer seems to be no, but nothing is certain until the selection is actually made.
And then off the field, Fields’ personal life has fallen under intense scrutiny.
This week Sports Gossip reported that he was dating model Gianna Carmona.
It didn’t take long for photos of her to hit the web and cause a major stir.

Although neither Fields nor Carmona have publicly acknowledged their situation, where there is smoke there is usually fire.
This has been a big offseason for NFL partners. Between Joe Burrow’s lady, Olivia Holzmacher, setting the internet ablaze with her recent party photos and Baker Mayfield’s wife, Emily, doing the same with her provocative workout pictures, it has been one instance after another.
This most recent one is just par for the course.
The Carmona situation aside, it will be interesting to see what sort of roster the Bears ultimately put around Fields heading into next season. There was optimism originally that maybe they’d be able to get him Saquon Barkley, but obviously the New York Giants nixed that by franchise tagging him.
Derrick Henry also appears to be an option, albeit a longshot one.
Beyond that – it’s hard to see what sort of meaningful help Chicago can add on offense to make Fields’ job easier.
Fields is a talented quarterback, but it’s hard to ignore the big red flags that surrounded him before he got drafted. There’s a reason the Denver Broncos passed on him. And it’s similarly telling that with him at the helm the Bears finished in position to get the first overall pick in this year’s draft.

Obviously Fields’ personal life is going well with Carmona, now it’s time to get his professional affairs in order.
Will 2023 mark the year that Fields steps up and takes his place as one of the league’s better young quarterbacks? Time will tell.
