Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily have had about as hectic of an NFL offseason as any married couple can have.
Last year, following disappointing stints with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams, the pair likely didn’t know what the future held for them. Baker’s standing as a starting quarterback in the league was very much in doubt.
Fortunately, Tom Brady’s retirement opened up a pretty sweet opportunity to spearhead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense. Baker signed a one-year contract worth up to $8.5 million that will give him one final opportunity to prove that he can replicate his collegiate success at the pro level.
This week, Baker and Emily decided to make the most of the remainder of the NFL offseason with an intimate little boat party.
Emily shared the wild photos from their boat party on social media.
Much like their boys’ night photos from last week, these pictures proved to be a huge hit.
It’s quite telling that in a week where Trevor and Marissa Lawrence set the internet ablaze with their wild beach day photos, Baker and Emily still found a unique way to nab the headlines.
Fun times aside, the significance of the looming NFL season cannot be overstated.
This year Baker will have his most potent receiving threats ever. His time with the Cleveland Browns obviously saw him work big names like Odell Beckham Jr., but the reality is that Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are far more reliable than anyone he has ever passed the ball to.

Also working in the Buccaneers’ favor is that the NFC South will likely be just as bad this year as it was last. The New Orleans Saints are on the verge of learning a tough lesson about Derek Carr’s ceiling, whereas the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are still simply too green.
So long as Baker plays up to the level everyone believed he could play up to coming out of Oklahoma, he could have a career year.
Baker and Emily have been making the most of their NFL offseason because they understand the stakes of this coming year. Will this be the season they emerge as one of the league’s elite power couples? An answer one way or the other will emerge soon enough.
