Austin Rivers broke down upon hearing of Kobe’s death on Sunday.
Kobe Bryant, a Los Angeles Lakers icon, was killed in a helicopter crash this week.
While most people were able to receive and absorb the tragic news in private, the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets were scheduled to play a basketball game.
As a result, their reactions were out there for the entire world to consume.
One particularly sad response came from Rivers, who was visibly torn up by the breaking news.

There was a moment of silence before the Rockets and Nuggets tipped off, but it was very clear that nobody wanted to be there.
The news of Bryant’s death was just too devastating and too fresh.
Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter was also one of the five people who died as a result of the accident.
The crash occurred in Los Angeles, California, as Bryant was reportedly traveling to the Mamba Academy with his daughter.
