On Monday the Kansas City Chiefs announced that they had signed MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a 10-year deal.

The decade-long contract, worth more than $500 million, ensures that the Chiefs’ offense will be in capable hands for the next 10 years.

While the Mahomes family and Chiefs organization were no doubt thrilled that a deal could be worked out, nobody was happier about it than head coach Andy Reid.

Prior to last season, Reid held the notable distinction of being arguably the greatest coach in football history to never win a championship. Mahomes changed all that for him.

Now that Mahomes has been locked up for a decade, Reid has a 25-year-old superstar who hasn’t even hit his prime yet leading his offense for the foreseeable future.

On Tuesday, Reid decided to showcase exactly how happy he is with what transpired one day earlier.

How did he do it? By putting on his best Tommy Bahama shirt to celebrate the occasion.

Mahomes is inarguably one of the two or three best quarterbacks in the NFL right now. In fact, there is a great case to be made that he is the absolute best.

With him locked up in place and Reid good to continue coaching, the Chiefs are going to be a Super Bowl threat for many years to come.
