Alex Caruso On If He Regrets Leaving Lakers For Bulls

Alex Caruso spent the vast majority of his professional NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

From 2017 to 2021, he served as an integral role player for the team and helped them win a championship along the way.

In 2021, Caruso signed a four-year contract for $37 million with the Chicago Bulls.

This week, he addressed whether he regretted how things ended for him in L.A. and whether he wishes he was still with the purple and gold.

“I think it worked out great for me,” Caruso told Jonathan Adams of “I think I got the most money I could get. I got the best opportunity I could get.

“Went to the best team and organization that I think really supports me and believes in me and gives me an opportunity to play basketball the way that I play best. I don’t think I’d change it for anything.”

Caruso also seems to be enjoying the fact that there is a little less spotlight when you play for pretty much any other team.

“Maybe not I told you so, but I don’t think I realized how much the Lakers are in the media until you leave,” he noted. “Being in the [Lakers] facility, it’s a little hard to see, but being in Chicago this year, I could definitely tell. It was easy to keep up with throughout the year.”

It’s something of an open secret at this point that things between Caruso and the Lakers ended very badly. He made certain accusations. The team made other claims. It was a whole ugly mess.

Fortunately, it appears as though Caruso is thriving in his new environment. He is coming off a solid year statistically, per usual. He is dating a model that, if we’re all being honest, looks out of his league. The man is doing very well for himself.

And based on how the Lakers looked in 2021-22, clearly they made a big mistake letting him go.

Maybe one day Caruso will return to L.A. But for now, he seems very happy with his situation in Chicago.
