AEW Firing Sammy Guevara Over Sasha Banks Rape Controversy?
Is AEW firing Sammy Guevara over his Sasha Banks rape controversy? Things appear to be trending in that direction.
The entire incident started with Banks tweeting out that she and Bayley were better than AEW’s duo of Chris Jericho and Guevara because they outperformed them in the ratings.
Jericho took issue with this.
“Congrats guys, proud of you,” he wrote.
“But don’t forget to add that you got SMOKED in the all important p18-49 demo (which is what advertisers care about the most) 367k to 264k!
“You did good…Just not good enough.”
Guevara then joined in on the fun, suggesting that Banks looked like fellow wrestler, Ricochet, whose real name is Trevor.
“Why’s Trevor tweeting about me from a different account?” he asked?
Shortly thereafter, a clip went viral from a few years back where Guevara suggested he wanted to rape Banks.
“Bro…Sasha Banks,” he said.
“Oh my God…when I was at the WWE the other week I wanted to go f*cking rape that woman.”
It remains to be seen if AEW will ultimately punish Guevara in any capacity for his comments. It is worth noting, the comments in question were made in 2016.
