Adrian Wojnarowski’s Latest Update On Lakers’ Trade Deadline Plans

Adrian Wojnarowski spoke this week regarding the never-ending speculation surrounding what the Los Angeles Lakers’ plans are ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.

To say that L.A. is a mess right now would be putting it mildly. The team is under .500 and is facing very real questions regarding its coaching staff and general roster composition.

Most expected the Lakers to be heavy buyers ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline, but their recent slump has led to questions about whether mortgaging the future for this group is even worth it.

This week, Wojnarowksi offered some clarity on where Anthony Davis and Co. presently stand.

“The Lakers have been active but they are a team, like a lot of other teams, that are trying to improve without a real difference maker really available in the marketplace,” he said.

“I think Laker fans and players and the organization probably have to temper their expectations on this trade deadline. Their best bet might be to wait… There are so few difference makers available.”

In recent days the Lakers have been linked to a 3-team trade proposal, a massive Austin Reaves deal, and a 4-team Dejounte Murray swap.

On top of that, because they aren’t one of the seven NBA teams banned from adding Kyle Lowry, some have suspected he may be a viable option.

That said, if what Wojnarowski said this week is to believed, maybe L.A. is already throwing in the towel on this campaign.

Will the Lakers ultimately swing a big move ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline? An answer one way or the other is coming this week.
