1 Team Emerges As Clear Frontrunner For Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson will be free to play in the NFL next season. On Friday, a grand jury opted not to indict him on charges related to the sexual wrongdoing claims that had been made against him over the past year – freeing him up to return to football in 2022-23.

The big question now is: where will he play?

Watson has made it clear that he is no longer interested in being a member of the Houston Texans.

Over the past few days an intriguing new option has presented itself for his next squad.

This week, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network said on his “Move The Sticks” podcast that the Seattle Seahawks were viewed as the clear favorite for Watson’s services.

“In talking to friends around the league, the expectation from every single one of them is that when it’s all said and done Deshaun Watson is gonna be the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks. … I haven’t talked to anybody who thinks Pete Carroll is gonna take this thing down to the studs with (GM) John Schneider and this is gonna be a three- or four-year rebuild,” Jeremiah said.

“Again, (I don’t have) any personal knowledge of that situation, but everybody in the league that I’ve talked to expects this to be the outcome.”

Aside from the Seahawks, one other team has been linked to Watson. Time will tell which will ultimately be able to add his services.

Watson is still just 26 years old. He has a long and bright future ahead of him in the NFL, assuming he can stay out of trouble.

What squad will eventually give him his next shot? Time will tell.
